Manchester United have gained a massive boost ahead of their FA Cup clash with Newport County.

Manchester United are already favourites to win their FA Cup clash against Newport County. While the team has done well to reach this stage of the tournament, many believe they don’t have what it takes to beat the Red Devils.

To add to the League Two team’s already unfavourable circumstances, £70m midfielder Carlos Casemiro could be returning to the lineup for this match. The 31-year-old has missed most of the season due to a hamstring injury.

He played a key role on Erik ten Hag’s squad last year. If it wasn’t for the Brazilian midfielder the team might not have been able to perform as well as they did last season.

His presence on the field has been missed. Casemiro took to Instagram to share a graphic of the match against Newport County with his face in front. A clear indication of his imminent return.

In 63 appearances for the team, the Brazilian has scored 11 goals while also recording seven assists. Just having him placed in the front of the defensive line makes a huge difference due to his excellence at being a defensive midfielder.

The Red Devils have defended extremely poorly this season and having Casemiro in the lineup will change that. Now that more of Erik ten Hag’s stars are starting to return from injury, the team can look to mount a comeback.
