Lisandro Martinez had not featured for Manchester United since September due to a foot injury. Last night’s game against Tottenham Hotspur finally marked his return to the field.

He received a warm reception from the fans who cheered him on from the moment he got out of the stands. Martinez took to Instagram after the game to thank the fans and said that he was proud of them.

The Argentine saw 27 minutes of action and managed to complete 100% of his passes while also making a recovery for the team during that time. It was overall a very positive showing from the 25-year-old.

He was also seemingly happy with the result as both Manchester United and the Lilywhites fought to a hard-earned 2-2 draw. The people at Old Trafford have no reason to be satisfied as they led the game 2-1 at halftime.

They even led the game 1-0 within the first three minutes of the game as Rasmus Hojlund put a banger through the top left corner of the Tottenham goal. However, equalisers from Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur eventually tied up the score.

Also in attendance on the Manchester United bench was Casemiro who has also been out due to injury. For a minute it looked like he would play, but Ten Hag decided obviously had other plans in mind.
