Paul Ince believes senior Manchester United duo will play a big role in young star’s development
Paul Ince believes senior Manchester United duo of Casemiro and Scott McTominay will be pivotal to the development of young Kobbie Mainoo. The 18-year-old is rated very highly amongst the Red Devils.
He has made 12 appearances for the team this season and has put together a string of impressive performances during that time. He completed 90% of his passes during the game against Wigan Athletic and even created a chance to score.
Erik Ten Hag has been happy to count on the player recently and he has proved his worth every single time. But, the road ahead is long and the England national still has a lot to learn.
Let’s have a look at what Paul Ince had to say about the young midfielder while talking to Manchester Evening News. (h\t Metro)
“Sometimes, you have to make an impact. So there will be little things he can learn from Scott McTominay, who gets into the box really, really well and gets his goals.”
“(Casemiro) is the type of person you’re looking at to play alongside him with his experience, Champions League medals, and playing at Real Madrid,”
He rates the player highly but knows that he has a lot of room for improvement. Paul proceeded to tell the player that he should be following in the footsteps of Declan Rice, who has also been impressive while leading the middle line for Arsenal.
Ince then went on to compare his situation at Manchester United to Kobbie’s. He believes that the 18-year-old has it rough because he is part of a struggling Manchester United squad. The team constantly switches their midfield which could hinder his growth.
