Arsenal could soon be coming to the aid of Manchester United star who is looking to claim a key role in Spain
Arsenal could improve the situation for Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood who is currently on loan at Getafe. The 22-year-old has come to life in Spain and has room to grow even more.
Speaking of further growth Arsenal could help him achieve it. The Gunners are reportedly looking to bring in 26-year-old Borja Mayoral to the fold. Mikael Arteta has been in the market for a striker since his team’s production has begun to falter.
What was earlier looking like a promising season for Arsenal has now come to a halt. The team has only won one out of their last five games which has caused them to fall out of the FA Cup. Arteta now wishes to bring in a new striker to get back on track.
According to The Sun (h/t Express), Arsenal have already made and had their £22m bid for Mayoral refused by Getafe. The Spanish side is hoping to get an offer closer to £39m for their star attacker.
If Arsenal end up signing Mayoral it’ll give a huge boost to Mason Greenwood. The departure of their star forward would force Getafe to fall back on the English winger.
If he can step up during his Mayoral’s absence his stock will skyrocket even further than it already has. This will be a crucial opportunity for Greenwood and he should pounce on it the first chance that he gets.
