Manchester United want Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise as one of the first signings under Sir Jim Ratcliffe era
Manchester United eye Crystal Palace star Michael Olise as an initial signing under Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe and Ineos successfully secured 25% of the stakes at United and now possess the final say on transfer activities.
The Red Devils have suffered a torrid season, already eliminated from the Champions League and the Carabao Cup. They finished fourth in the Champions League Group A, completely knocking them out of the European competitions.
Currently, the FA Cup is the only realistic trophy that they can compete for while fighting for a top-four finish. United are eighth in the Premier League table right now, nine points behind the fourth place Arsenal.
The Red Devils have faced problems with cohesiveness in all phases of the game that has hurt their consistency. They have leaked too many goals while their attack lacked fluidity, flair and finishing which hampered their ability to score.
United have only scored 22 goals in the Premier League with only Burnley and Sheffield United beneath them. Antony, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are the experienced forwards who have struggled with consistency this season.
According to The Standard, United have expressed interest in securing Olise’s summer signing to strengthen their attacking lineup. Premier League rivals Chelsea attempted to sign the France U21 last summer but he rejected their attempts.
The France U21 had a £35 million release clause in his previous contract that Chelsea tried to exploit during the summer. The report further suggests that Olise’s new contract has an unknown release clause which is significantly higher than £35 million.
Olise is a versatile talent capable of playing in the right wing, as a midfielder and behind the main forward. He has fantastic technical abilities which help him deliver clinical passes and take a variety of shots. He is the set-piece and free-kick specialist for the Eagles and a constant threat from a dead-ball situation.

The 22-year-old has the close control, pace and dribbling ability to take on any defender one-on-one and beat them. His physical build, athleticism and energy combined with his skills make him very unpredictable for opponents. The French U21 can exploit the channels as easily as he can expose the defence from the byline.
Olise can be a fantastic addition to the United squad that is craving for an attacker with flair. The 22-year-old is young and already boasts a good amount of Premier League experience with consistency in performance.
