Facundo Pellistri could leave Manchester United on loan amidst diminishing game time
Facundo Pellistri and his situation at Manchester United continue to baffle us to the very core. He has been at the club for so many seasons and yet, no one seems to have a clear idea on whether or not he has what it takes to play for the club.
Despite looking so close to breaking through on so many occasions, a general lack of opportunities have really crippled his career so far. Whilst the talent and potential are obvious, at 22, he is no longer a youngster and needs regular game time.
It is not like Manchester United have a wealth of options at right wing either. Jadon Sancho has been frozen out of the first team picture for quite some time now. Anthony has been firing blanks all season but Erik ten Hag doesn’t want to change.
Why not give Pellistri a chance? The Uruguayan winger has the talent required to make the right wing his own at United. However, Erik ten Hag would rather start an out-of-form Anthony but not give a chance to Pellistri.
With the return of Amad Diallo, a player who impressed during pre-season, life could keep getting tougher for Pellistri if he stayed at Manchester United. It’s not like he is short of interest either, from other clubs.
According to Manchester Evening News, ‘a host of clubs’ are interested in taking the talented 22-year-old on loan. If they can assure Manchester United of regular game time for the Uruguayan winger, the Red Devils must really consider letting him go.
If a Premier League club come calling, it makes all the more sense to let him leave. He can continue developing in the same league and who knows, when he returns, he might be ready for a regular first-team role next season.
Anthony doesn’t seem like he has what it takes to resurrect his career at Old Trafford. For the sake of his career, he might be forced to leave the club next summer. This is where Pellistri can step in and make it count.

With the impending departure of Jadon Sancho though, we are not very sure Erik ten Hag will let Pellistri leave. For the sake of his career, he’ll be better off getting regular game time elsewhere. Let’s wait and see how this transpires.
