Manchester United are looking to acquire Bayern Munich’s World Cup-winning forward this January

According to The Athletic, Manchester United want to bring in Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller. The 34-year-old has been a part of the club since 2000 and is also a former World Cup winner.

Manchester United’s attacking line is abysmal. It feels like the team is constantly buying new forwards but are always in the market for more. None of their forward-line signings seem to work in their favour.

Though he is a little on the older side, Muller’s quality is undeniable. He has made 685 appearances for Bayern Munich’s senior team and has recorded 237 goals and 263 assists during that time (Transfermarkt). An absolute legend for the German side.

Having a player like Muller could be the quality that the Red Devils need upfront. He can single-handedly help the team deal with their creative woes as well as their goal-scoring troubles.

However, seeing how the German striker has recently signed an extension with Bayern Munich a deal looks unlikely. Manchester United are historically known for not conducting a lot of business in January and their not pursuing Muller will not surprise anyone.

Moreover, the team needs money before they can even think about acquiring new players. Funds are tight at Old Trafford and the only way to remedy that is to offload some players.

As the team scrambles to find some funds the current priority right now is to offload Jadon Sancho. His former club Borussia Dortmund is interested in bringing him back and a deal could be struck soon.
