Manchester United will have to dish out £100m if they want to get their hands on ‘Rolls Royce defender’ also being pursued by Borussia Dortmund
It looks like Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are about to lock horns. Both teams are in pursuit of ‘Rolls Royce defender’ Jarrad Branthwaite. The 21-year-old has been valued at £100m.
Jarrad Branthwaite has been phenomenal this season. At just 21 he has played a pivotal role for Everton who have just erased their 10-point deduction. Branthwaite’s 17 appearances have been pivotal to Everton’s comeback.
He is known as a ‘Rolls Royce defender’ because much like a Rolls Royce he is the complete package. Recruiters around the league believe he will grow to be a regular for the England national team.
His excellent form has garnered interest from some big names. Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and even Postecoglou’s Tottenham have been closely monitoring the player, reports INEWS [paid subscription].
But getting their hands on the defender is not going to be easy. Apart from being phenomenal on the pitch, he is also happy with the club and is under contract with them until 2027.
All of this combined has earned him a £100m price tag. It is improbable that we will see any of the above-mentioned teams spend this amount of money in January.
