Pundit advises Manchester United to go all out in January and provide support to Erik ten Hag
Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has urged the team to back Erik ten Hag and to prepare for a busy January. He believes the team needs a total rebuild to get back on track.
A lot of the players on the Manchester United team have been missing from the squad because of injuries. As Ten Hag goes further down the pecking order to plug the holes, the quality of his team deteriorates.
The Old Trafford squad is in desperate need of some new pieces on the board. Although, Manchester United have said that they are not expecting a busy January that should not be the case.
Their first order of business should be the offloading of Jadon Sancho. The 23-year-old is taking up a roster spot for no reason. A lot of the Red Devils’ problems could be solved if he apologises to Ten Hag. Since he is refusing to do so, their best bet is to ship him off.
They also have a decision to make regarding Raphael Varane’s future at the club. His performance against Liverpool should serve as a reminder of his class. He is the kind of defender that can help them win the Premier League.
Another order of business for Manchester United would be to acquire a playmaker or a strong finisher. Ten Hag’s team does not have a creative bone in it and when they somehow do create a chance the attacking line often fails to capitalise on it.
This quote from Wes Brown should help put Manchester United’s position into perspective. (h/t OLBG)
“If it was up to me, I’d buy a player in each position,”
“When the transfer window opens again, the club have to get behind the manager, and I think they will.
