Brazilian midfielder who was sold after the appointment of Erik ten Hag has flourished at Fenerbahce following his departure from Manchester United
30-year-old midfielder Fred was sold to Fenerbahce after Manchester United agreed to a fee of €10m. Since his departure from Old Trafford the South American star has won 17 games for his new club.
Fred was likely going to be sidelined after Manchester United closed a deal to acquire Mason Mount. Keeping this in mind a new home was then found for the Brazilian national.
What a move it has been for Fred. Fenerbahce have yet to lose a game in which the South American star participates. Throughout 17 games for his new club, the Brazilian has recorded 5 assists and has led his team to a win in all of them (transfermarkt).
While Fred is winning all his games at Fenerbahce, Manchester United have been in an abysmal state. They were recently humbled by Bournemouth during their trip to Old Trafford.
Moreover, they famously crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich. It must sting Ten Hag to see a player he sold do so well while his team falls apart.
This has become a recurring pattern at Manchester United. Fans have noticed that every time a player leaves the Red Devils they immediately turn over a new leaf and find success with their new clubs.

While seeing Fred flourish is great news, Manchester United must now turn their gaze towards their problems.
The team looked lost against Liverpool, while the defence and Onana’s masterclass were welcome sights. The attack barely even managed to make a mark on that game.
The Old Trafford management and especially Ten Hag must help this team find its attacking flair. The current Manchester United bolstered with a decent attack could easily push for a top 4 finish in the Premier League.
