Manchester United and Galatasaray plan to negotiate a deal for Donny van de Beek

Manchester United and Galatasaray want to wrap up the deal between Donny van de Beek before the Champions League game.  Van de Beek has only played two minutes of senior team football for United in all competitions this season.

United faces Galatasaray in the must-win Champions League away game at the hostile RAMS Park Stadium on November 29. The Red Devils are facing early elimination from the Champions League before the knockout stages.

United have lost three games in the Champions League with only one victory to their name. They are currently lying in the fourth position behind Galatasaray with just two games remaining.

The Manchester giants will face Bayern Munich in their last fixture at Old Trafford. The German giants have won all four of their Champions League fixtures.

Turkey-based sports news website Sporx reported that Galatasaray wants to recruit Van de Beek during the upcoming January transfer window. The Athletic reported that Galatasaray tried to sign the 26-year-old from United on a loan deal during the summer.

United signed Van de Beek from Ajax for £35.7m during the summer of 2020 under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Solskjaer remained unimpressed by the Dutchman’s performance until United’s poor performances led to the Norwegian’s sacking in the 2021-22 season.

The 26-year-old’s struggle continued under the interim managers Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick as he failed to get game-time.

Van de Beek has seen his struggle continue under United manager Erik ten Hag despite playing for him during their time together at Ajax. In fact, Van de Beek’s performances at Ajax under Ten Hag earned him the reputation that attracted United.

The Dutchman need to play regular football as he is currently in the peak year of his career. A move away from Old Trafford will be mutually beneficial for both the player and the club. Galatasaray can provide him with regular first-team football and a continuous chance to play in the Champions League.
