La Liga side Sevilla are keen to sign Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri. The 20-year-old has given promising performances so far this season whenever he received an opportunity in the senior team.

The Red Devils have shown vulnerability in the midfield this season and it has cost them dearly many times. The Manchester giants have lost six out of 12 games in all competitions so far this season.

Players such as Casemiro, Mason Mount, Christian Eriksen, and Sofyan Amrabat have struggled with injuries and displayed inconsistent performances. Scott McTominay has given good goal-scoring performances but his overall contribution can improve further.

Hannibal has made four appearances in all competitions this season for the Red Devils and scored one stunning goal. The Tunisia international has started in three matches while being an unused substitute in five games. However, the coaching staff has not given the 20-year-old any minutes since they substituted him at half-time against Galatasaray. United lost the game against the Turkish club, 3-4 at Old Trafford, as Hannibal struggled to make an impact.

The Tunisian gave fantastic performances against Burnley in the Premier League 0-1 away victory. Hannibal dominated the midfield against Crystal Palace in United’s 3-0 Carabao Cup win. Sky Sports reported that the 20-year-old broke record in running and pressing stats for the Red Devils during the game.

Fabrizio Romano, in his Daily Briefing column (h/t Manchester Evening News), revealed Sevilla’s interest in signing Hannibal. However, the Red Devils are keen to extend the stay of the Tunisian with a long-term contract.

We think Hannibal is facing a crucial decision as he can get more regular football at Sevilla. However, the Tunisian has done well for the Red Devils and deserves more game time compared to his underperforming competitions. If United are hopeful about Hannibal’s career at Old Trafford, they might need to act quickly with the contract talks. The 20-year-old’s future looks very bright but we have to wait and see if that future is at Old Trafford or elsewhere.
