Manchester United icon Dwight Yorke told the club that Kylian Mbappe is currently out of their reach.

Manchester United icon Dwight Yorke gave a blunt assessment of why he thinks Manchester United cannot sign Kylian Mbappe.

Yorke’s assessment was based on certain truths that he learnt from the legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Ferguson was the longest-tenured manager in United’s history and helped the club win numerous major honours throughout his reign.

The Scotsman won 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, and two UEFA Champions League during his tenure. The Red Devils won a total of 39 trophies under the legend and dominated domestic football with total football.

Yorke told investment platform Stocklytics (h/t Mirror) about the importance of dominating domestic leagues like Ferguson did at United. He said:

“I learned from Sir Alex that in order to attract the best players, you need to dominate domestically – something that’s happening across the city. Manchester City have been able to attract the world’s best players due to their success.”

Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is one of the best-attacking footballers in the world. The 24-year-old is out of contract after the end of the current season. Every top club around the globe highly covets the France international, with Real Madrid leading the race.

Mbappe has made 270 appearances for PSG so far while contributing 221 goals and 99 assists in his young career. He is entering the peak years of his career as a prolific attacker, and expectations are high for him to break many records.

Clubs can start pre-contract agreement talks with the World Cup winner from 1st January onwards. United fans would love such a high-calibre signing and he can truly be a game-changer for the Red Devils.
