Jadon Sancho is very likely to leave Manchester United in 2024 as the situation boils over

According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano’s tweet on X, Manchester United appear ready to cut ties with Jadon Sancho once and for all in 2024 as the fallout from his spat with Erik ten Hag continues.

The winger has not featured for the club since and a return to action does not appear to be on the horizon. Unless he apologises to the manager, the club appear willing to throw their weight behind Ten Hag.

United are prepared to support Ten Hag due to his firm attitude on squad discipline, and as such, the team is open to considering bids for Sancho in January. He signed a contract to join United until at least June 2026 after leaving Dortmund in a £73 million deal in 2021. To call his transfer underwhelming would be an understatement.

Sancho hasn’t appeared on the pitch for United since August after being expelled from the team after openly contesting Ten Hag’s justifications for benching him during the 3-1 loss to Arsenal on September 3.

Marcus Rashford‘s play has been subpar this season, and personal issues kept Antony away for an extended period of time. These losses have had a detrimental effect on United’s recent performance.

Ten Hag’s choices are limited because Mason Greenwood was sent out on loan and Amad Diallo is injured. Sancho’s behaviour has undoubtedly damaged his relationship with the club’s decision-makers.

With the player refusing to back down, something has got to give. It is perhaps the easier option for United to back their manager over Sancho. With no resolution in sight, this marriage now looks set for a messy divorce.

Perhaps Sancho is just defending himself. The manager and the team have demonstrated bad management and an inability to reach a consensus with a player who is prepared to stand his position by giving him an ultimatum.
