Manchester United target Adrien Rabiot hints at Juventus stay ahead of the European Championship
Adrien Rabiot is a name that is continually linked with Manchester United season after season only for the French midfielder to eventually stay at Juventus each time. It looks like we are going to see yet another instalment in this long-drawn saga.
Nothing has changed from last year to this one. Rabiot made a lot of sense for Premier League clubs last year since he was in the final year of his contract at Turin and funnily enough, that statement holds true even today.
After agreeing on a one-year contract extension with the Italian giants, Rabiot now has a contract with Juventus that runs down at the end of the current season (Transfermarkt). Understandably, Manchester United and Chelsea are circling.
A regular in the French national team as well under Didier Deschamps, it does look like Rabiot has managed to make his faltering career fall into place for the first time. The last 18 months have delivered on the initial promise he showed when he was at PSG.
It is easy to understand why Manchester United or Chelsea or any club for that matter would be interested in Adrien Rabiot. He has an excellent engine to get up and down the field for 90 minutes and work tirelessly in both attack and defence.
Speaking about his situation at Juventus and what his future holds, Adrien Rabiot did not seem too fussed about the links to Manchester United or Chelsea and seemed to prefer to stay in Italy, as quoted by the Metro.
“This is a club where I am happy and we are having a very good season. Staying at a team I knew very well, in the season going into the European Championship, seemed the best option. The club has faith in me. We’ll see later on about a renewal, but in any case I am very happy with my situation at the club and in the France squad”
The Euros 2024 is set to kick-start in June of next year when the club football calendar takes a break. Rabiot in all likelihood is expected to find a place in the France squad and it is easy to understand why he made that decision to stay in Juventus.
However, the fact that he only renewed for a year tells us that he might actually be open to a move once the Euros conclude. In that case, the free-agent will become a hot prospect for the big clubs in England and elsewhere.

From a Manchester United perspective, if the opportunity presents itself, there is absolutely no reason why they must not go ahead and sign the Frenchman. In terms of profile, he is a mix of Bruno Fernandes/Mason Mount and Casemiro. We need someone like him in our team and let’s wait and see how this pans out.
