Manchester United to battle Bayern for Palmeiras wonderkid Luis Guilherme
According to the famous Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano in the Daily Briefing column (h/t CaughtOffside) Manchester United are interested in Luis Guilherme, but they have to fight with Bayern Munich to sign him.
Guilherme seems to have good future prospects in this sport and perhaps he could come to Europe at once, because, most likely, there will be numerous opportunities for him here. The young man definitely wants to go to a well-known club that will bring out his potential.
Palmeiras for whom Guilherme features as a regular player have so far played 22 games this season. Coming off the bench, the youngster watched helplessly as Boca Juniors edged out their Brazilian counterparts on penalties in the Copa Libertadores semifinal.
Guilherme plays as an attacking midfielder and might act as an alternative to Eriksen or Bruno in the long run. Bruno hardly misses any games. Being a youngster he can be useful, when United play their counter-attacking football.
Rasmus Hojlund, our summer acquisition, has scored three goals, which is the most for Manchester United this season depicting our struggles in front of goal. Marcus Rashford has not really made any meaningful contributions yet.
After a disastrous start to the season, Erik ten Hag has spoken about the necessity for his team to be more ruthless in attack this year. In the UEFA Champions League, they have performed significantly better, scoring five goals in two games but it has not resulted in a win.
Bayern Munich on the other hand won their first two Champions League games. They look better than United this season and they haven’t lost a game in the Bundesliga as well. Their form might give them an upper hand in luring Guilherme to Germany.
