Manchester United are expected to renew the contract of Victor Lindelof

According to Daily Star, Manchester United are looking to renew the contract of our Swedish defender Victor Lindelof.

Lindelof’s contract is expected to expire at the end of the current season. There is the option of triggering it for an extra year and the club also want to enter contract talks to extend it further.

Injuries to Sergio Reguilon, Raphael Varane, and Lisandro Martinez has made Lindelof a key player. This season, he has played in 10 games across all competitions, even filling in at left-back.

This term, Erik ten Hag clearly benefits from Lindelof’s versatility and expertise. The 29-year-old has made 241 appearances for the Red Devils since moving to the club from SL Benfica in 2017.

Manchester United might want to keep Lindelof due to his ability to play in multiple roles and almost always go about his job without a fuss.

With all the injured players still some time away from returning to football action, Lindelof will have to be the Jack of all trades for a bit longer.

There are no complaints so far with Lindelof. He’s been a good replacement for the above-mentioned players and Ten Hag seems to be quite confident. Against Brentford, he played as a left-back proving his versatility.

It makes sense for United to extend Victor Lindelof’s deal. At this point, there is no justification for letting him depart the club.
