Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri shares bittersweet feeling after scoring first senior goal
Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri shared the bittersweet moment of scoring his first senior goal. He took to Instagram to express his thoughts about the goal. The 20-year-old midfielder struck an incredible shot from outside the opponent’s box in the 73rd minute of the game.
The Red Devils endured a horrible afternoon, losing 1-3 at home against Brighton & Hove Albion. Hannibal’s consolation goal was bittersweet for both him and the Old Trafford crowd as the club continued its poor form.
Hannibal came on as a substitute in the 64th minute, replacing out-of-form midfielder Casemiro when the Red Devils were two goals down. United conceded again in the 71st minute, but Hannibal’s wonder goal briefly revived hope for a fightback, two minutes later.

Hannibal posted a picture of his celebration on Instagram alongside a bittersweet caption, saying:
“Years of work went into that moment to score a goal for this incredible club. Impossible to enjoy it without the team getting the result we wanted.”
Hannibal hopes for more opportunities to showcase his talent and help United out of their slump.
The Tunisian midfielder had a training bust-up with his former United teammate Alex Telles. Hannibal was linked with a loan move to the Turkish club Besiktas after Besiktas’ attempt to sign him permanently failed.
United finished Saturday in 13th position, with a chance to fall even further as other clubs play their respective games.
The Red Devils face vulnerabilities in multiple areas of the field, with the midfield also being questioned by fans and pundits.
