Robbie Savage predicts Manchester United could lose to Brighton & Hove Albion
Former Premier League midfielder Robbie Savage talked to TEAMtalk to give his prediction for Manchester United vs. Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford this weekend.
The Premier League action returns from the international break and United will be playing Brighton with the home advantage at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are lying in 11th position after struggling to find consistency, having won and lost two games each.
Brighton, on the other hand, have won three games while losing a home game against West Ham United. They defeated top 4 contenders, Newcastle United, in their last game with an emphatic 3-1 scoreline. Brighton is currently in 6th position in the Premier League.
While reminding TEAMtalk about the double, Brighton did over the Red Devils last season. Savage said:
“Let’s not forget last year Brighton did the double over Manchester United and I think they’ll win this one at Old Trafford too. Manchester United aren’t playing well at all. Okay, they’ve got six points on the board. But you know, realistically they’re lucky to have six points on the board. I think this Brighton side away from home will play in transition. Remember Mitoma’s goal at Wolves, it was fantastic from that left-hand side. I think Mitoma will be on the scoresheet and I’m gonna go with a Brighton 2-1 away win.”
The Red Devils manager, Erik ten Hag is facing a daunting task as they cannot afford to lose the home game immediately after an international break.
Brighton is a tough opponent but United need to gain momentum to rectify their poor start to the season. United will travel to Munich to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stage opening fixture. They want to demonstrate to the German giant that they have addressed the vulnerabilities exposed before the international break.
Off the pitch, a lot of controversies surround the Red Devils at the moment. They would benefit from bringing the focus back to football by giving United fans something to cheer about, against Brighton.
