Denmark head coach Kasper Hjulmand gives a positive fitness update on Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund

Denmark head coach Kasper Hjulmand talked about the fitness of new Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund. Denmark is preparing to face San Marino and Finland in this week’s Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Speaking to Bold.dk (via Manchester Evening News), Hjulmand said:

“I was over there [at Manchester United] a week ago, where I saw two training sessions, and I saw the Rasmus I know. He has never felt anything. So, they have been very conservative and cautious with him.
“But he looks like himself, and I think his jump-in was convincing. He started by smashing into a centre-back and he made his mark on the game in the minutes he played. Now there was 15 minutes of overtime, so he got a little more than they had expected. It looked fine and he is in good shape.”

The Red Devils signed Rasmus Hojlund for £72m from Serie A side Atalanta. The forward appeared in 34 games for Atalanta where he scored 10 goals and provided four assists. While the numbers aren’t exactly prolific, his potential is undeniable.

The 20-year-old forward missed the first three opening games for United as he recovered from a back injury. Hojlund came on as a substitute in the 67th minute in United’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

The talented forward currently tops the Euro 2024 qualifying goal scoring list with six goals. Hojlund will be looking to get back to his best form after the injury lay-off and help his country climb to the top of their table.

United fans will be eagerly watching international games to see their star players in action. They would like to see Hojlund play and gain confidence with hopes that he will carry on the form when he returns to Old Trafford.

The youngster showed off his potential against Arsenal and will only get better once he is better acquainted with his surroundings. Hopefully, that happens sooner rather than later.
