Former Manchester United goalie Ben Foster believes Jadon Sancho crossed the line with Erik ten Hag response

Former Manchester United goalkeeper, Ben Foster, recently spoke out about the concerning situation surrounding Jadon Sancho. In a candid interview with the United Stand on YouTube, Foster boldly stated,

“If Sir Alex Ferguson is the manager, and Jadon Sancho does this, he will never see the light of the day again for Manchester United. He’ll never play for the club, he’ll never be allowed in the training ground.”

Sancho chose to voice his displeasure on his X account right after the 3-1 loss against Arsenal. His message implied that he was being used by Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag as a scapegoat.

It’s worth noting that United made a record signing of Sancho from Borussia Dortmund on July 1, 2021. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old winger has consistently fallen short of the expected performance standards.

Sancho has received criticism for his attitude and work ethic in training. The England international was once omitted from the squad by England manager Gareth Southgate during the UEFA Euros 2020 tournament. Sancho’s attitude was said to be the reason for the exclusion.

Ten Hag made the same assessment with respect to the work ethic and attitude that Sancho showed during the training sessions.

Ten Hag has taken strong actions for the benefit of the club as a whole. He stood up to United icon Cristiano Ronaldo. Ten Hag put Ronaldo on the bench as Ronaldo’s lack of effort off the ball was hurting the overall performance of the team.

After Ronaldo’s infamous interview where he voiced his displeasure, Ten Hag made a swift move to remove the famous striker. Ronaldo exited the club after his contract ended by mutual consent.

Veteran goalkeeper Foster made a total of 23 appearances for United under the legendary regime of former manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Ferguson had a no-nonsense approach. It is common knowledge that he took strict disciplinary action against any players who overstepped their boundaries.

Since the Ferguson era, Manchester United have faced challenges in retaining a manager for a prolonged tenure. Many loyal fans are hoping that Ten Hag can emulate Ferguson’s leadership abilities, ensuring stability for the club’s future success.
