Manchester United manager will be having a chat with Jadon Sancho after their public burst up on Sunday

According to the Daily Mail, Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho are set to have a crucial showdown talk following a public dispute that emerged on Sunday.

The Dutch boss criticised the Manchester United winger for his below-par training performances after the team’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal.

In response, Sancho accused the coach of lying and claimed that he was unfairly singled out as a “scapegoat” by the United manager.

Ten Hag would be looking to resolve this issue, even though Sancho has not lived up to expectations since his high-profile transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

The 23-year-old winger has only made three substitute appearances this season, as Antony and Alejandro Garnacho have been favoured over him.

As per the Daily Mail, the manager is planning to have “clear the air” talks with the English star regarding his exclusion from the squad in the match against the Gunners.

Sancho’s representatives feel that he hasn’t been given a fair opportunity to start games, but United’s perspective differs from this. As stated by ESPN, Ten Hag is determined in his belief that Sancho can perform better on the field.

The club appears to strongly support their manager, as there are discussions about potential disciplinary measures against the young attacker.

Ten Hag’s firm stance suggests that Sancho is unlikely to have his way with the Dutch coach, who previously made bold decisions such as dropping Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was not given a chance to return after publicly criticising Ten Hag in an interview with Piers Morgan.

Marcus Rashford was also excluded from the starting lineup against Wolverhampton Wanderers on New Year’s Day as he was late for a team meeting.

It remains uncertain whether Sancho can change his coach’s opinion. However, he does have a two-week period during the international break to put in hard work at Carrington and vie for a spot in United’s upcoming match against Brighton.
