Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta praises Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the blockbuster Sunday clash
Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has praised Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund as an exceptional talent ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The Danish striker, who recently joined the Red Devils from Atalanta for a £75 million fee, has been unable to make his debut for the club due to a back injury sustained during pre-season.
Following a week of training, the 20-year-old ace is expected to be part of the lineup against the Gunners.
During his press conference, Arteta described Hojlund as an immensely talented player.
The Spanish manager also mentioned that there is considerable buzz surrounding the striker, but he will need to prove himself in the competitive English Premier League.
While talking to Arsenal TV (as quoted by the Gunner’s official website), Arteta said:
“I prefer not to speak about players, he’s a huge talent, and everybody is talking really highly of him and he will have to prove that in this league.”
In the initial two games of the season, Man United relied on Marcus Rashford as their primary striker, but in the recent match against Nottingham Forest, Anthony Martial took that role.
However, both players struggled to make an impact while playing as the number nine. And now Hojlund is a potential candidate to lead the attack in the upcoming game on Sunday.
United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has already stated that the former Atalanta star is fit and ready to participate in the weekend match.
The Dutch boss might opt to use the Dane in the starting XI, but he could consider substituting him around the one-hour mark due to fitness concerns.
The young ace offers a different challenge for the Arsenal defense. He brings a well-rounded skill set, including strength, speed, and dribbling abilities.
The Red Devils need to score more goals, and how wonderful it would be to see their new signing open his goal-scoring account in his debut game.

One advantage is that Hojlund is a natural fit for the striker position. While Rashford has scored numerous goals as a forward, he has a tendency to miss clear-cut scoring opportunities.
Therefore, the forward’s readiness to play is a positive development for Man United.
