Barcelona consider Ajax Amsterdam attacker and Manchester United target Mohammed Kudus transfer
Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus is being eyed by Barcelona this summer amidst interest from Manchester United, according to Spanish outlet Sport via Fichajes.com.
The La Liga giants have expressed interest in acquiring the services of the Ghana international in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, the Blaugrana thought about proposing a loan move for the 23-year-old with an obligation to buy him.
Xavi has lost Ousmane Dembele from his ranks this summer. The France international joined Paris Saint-Germain from the Catalan outfit recently.
However, for now, Barcelona are focusing on signing Joao Cancelo from Manchester City. As a result, a move for Kudus has been shelved until the Spanish side bolster their right-back position.
United and the Blaugrana are not the only two teams who have the Ghanaian on their radar. The forward is also being monitored by Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea.
Ajax signed Kudus in the summer of 2020 when Erik ten Hag was still in charge of the Eredivisie outfit. Under the Dutch manager, the attacker was mostly a backup player.
However, the Ghanaian caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays in the previous campaign. The versatile attacker has started the new season in fine fashion as well, scoring a goal and providing one assist in two appearances in the league.
At United, Antony was signed last summer from Ajax after an impressive spell in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, the Brazil international has been unable to make a big enough impact at the club so far.

The Red Devils have lacked creativity and sharpness up top in the first two matches of the season. Whether we will sign Kudus to fix the issues remains to be seen. It will be interesting to see whether Barcelona will make a concrete attempt to sign the Ghanaian in the coming weeks.
