Rasmus Hojlund injury ‘more serious’ than Manchester United disclosed
Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund is nursing a back injury that is ‘more serious’ than has been disclosed by the club, according to the Daily Mail.
An MRI conducted on the Denmark international revealed that there was a stress response hotspot in his back, which can lead to stress fractures. As a result, his playing time is likely going to be limited at the start of the 2023/24 term.
As things stand, the Red Devils have already ruled the striker out for the opening two Premier League games of the upcoming campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the Old Trafford side are optimistic that there is nothing to be concerned about. The 20-year-old needs adequate rest to get back to full fitness.
United paid £72 million to acquire the services of Hojlund in the ongoing transfer window from Atalanta. The Red Devils beat competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Juventus to get a hold of his signature.
Last season, the Danish national showcased a lot of potential in Italy, albeit his numbers are not that encouraging. The youngster has also burst onto the scene for his national side in the last few months.
At United, the arrival of Hojlund was evidently much needed. Anthony Martial was the only natural number nine at Erik ten Hag’s disposal before the former Atalanta striker’s arrival.
The French national has been in and out of action for the Red Devils since the Dutch manager’s arrival last summer due to fitness issues. Unfortunately, it looks like the Danish national will be on the sidelines for some time now as well.

Hopefully, Hojlund’s knock is nothing too serious and he will be able to get back to full match fitness soon. It will be interesting to see when the youngster will be able to make his debut for the Old Trafford side.
