Harry Maguire is keen to join West Ham United from Manchester United
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is ‘keen’ on joining West Ham United in the ongoing transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.
The Hammers are looking to acquire the England international’s services this summer. To that end, they have offered the Red Devils £30 million to get a hold of the centre-back’s signature.
As things stand, the Old Trafford side are open to parting ways with him in the coming weeks. If the Irons are able to come to a consensus with the Manchester-based club, the 30-year-old will be willing to make the switch.
Maguire has lost his place at Man United since Erik ten Hag’s arrival. In the previous campaign, the defender was a bit-part player for the Dutch manager. He made just eight starts in the Premier League for us.
As a result, the English national is ready to start a new chapter in his career. The centre-back is looking forward to potentially playing under David Moyes at the London Stadium side.
West Ham are the only team in the English top flight yet to officially sign someone in the ongoing transfer window. They are looking at Maguire to bolster their backline.
In the previous campaign, the Hammers struggled in the league but managed to lift the UEFA Europa Conference League title. Kurt Zouma and Nayerf Aguerd have formed a solid partnership at the Irons but both of them have had their fair share of injury issues in the last few months.
At Man United, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane were Ten Hag’s go-to pairing last season. The two World Cup winners were backed up by Victor Lindelof on most occasions. Luke Shaw also found himself playing in central defence on a few occasions.

Therefore, it will arguably be difficult for Maguire to go ahead in the pecking order once again. Thus, it seems wise for the defender to move on and for the Red Devils to cash in on him.
