Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga rejects Everton transfer move
Manchester United star Anthony Elanga has rejected a move to Premier League rivals Everton in the ongoing transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The Sweden international has rebuffed the opportunity this summer to play for the Goodison Park side. Sean Dyche was keen on acquiring the youngster’s services but has failed to entice him.
As things stand, the 21-year-old is exploring his future. The Red Devils are open to parting ways with the forward in the coming weeks.
The Toffees were in direct contact with Elanga for some time. However, the Swedish national has doubts regarding his suitability to the Merseyside outfit’s style of play.
Dyce established himself in the English game with Burnley. Under the English manager, the Clarets were resolute and hard to beat. However, that seemingly took away from their attacking game.
At Everton, the 52-year-old has a similar setup. He made them hard to beat after the departure of Frank Lampard. However, the Toffees managed to survive the drop by the skin of their teeth.
Elanga made his way through the youth ranks at United. Subsequently, under Ralf Rangnick, the Swedish national was given regular opportunities in the first team.
But with the arrival of Erik ten Hag, the youngster’s chances in the team dwindled last season. He made just 26 appearances in all competitions for the Old Trafford side, most of them off the bench.

The gaffer had had the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony at his disposal. Jadon Sancho is also in our ranks, while Alejandro Garnacho also had a breakout 2022/23 term.
Therefore, Elanga arguably needs to find regular minutes to develop further. That looks challenging at the Manchester-based club. However, with the 21-year-old rejecting Everton, it remains to be seen which team will end up getting him.
