Mason Mount enthusiastic after signing for Manchester United from Chelsea
Manchester United new boy Mason Mount is enthusiastic about starting a new chapter in his career after officially making the switch to the Old Trafford side from Chelsea.
The England international’s arrival was announced recently by the Red Devils. He has signed a five-year contract until 2028, with the option for a further season. The 24-year-old has also been handed the iconic number seven shirt at the club.
Speaking on the United’s official website, Mount gave a positive verdict of the Red Devils under Erik ten Hag. The midfielder is raring to go and play for the Dutch manager at the Manchester-based club in the upcoming campaign.
“Everyone can see that the club has made big steps forward under Erik ten Hag. Having met with the manager and discussed his plans, I couldn’t be more excited for the seasons ahead, and I am ready for the hard work expected here.”
The English national made his way through the youth ranks at Chelsea. Subsequently, the 24-year-old established himself in the Blues’ first-team setup during Frank Lampard’s first stint at the Stamford Bridge side.
Over the years, Mount has developed into one of the finest players. While last season was one to forget for him, the playmaker has been named Chelsea’s Player of the Year twice in the past.
The 24-year-old also has the experience of winning multiple trophies at the West London club. In the 2020/21 season, the Blues won the Champions League, with the English national playing a starring role.

At United, the engine room had to be reinforced with the arrival of Marcel Sabitzer on loan in January. However, the Austrian has returned to Bayern Munich.
We currently have the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes in our ranks. Mount will evidently add much-needed quality in depth to the middle of the park and has the ability to play in the number eight position as well as the playmaking role.
