Tom Heaton summer transfer to Everton from Manchester United ‘unlikely’
Manchester United are unlikely to part ways with Tom Heaton amidst interest from Everton in the ongoing transfer window, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The English national has been linked with a move to the Toffees, reuniting with former Burnley boss Sean Dyche. However, it does not look like the Goodison Park side will be able to get a hold of the shot-stopper’s signature anytime soon.
As things stand, the future of David de Gea at the Old Trafford side is uncertain. His contract with the club has expired. On the other hand, Dean Henderson is also on the sidelines for now.
Therefore, the Red Devils will not let the 37-year-old leave at the moment. His contract was recently extended by the club after an option to lengthen the veteran goalkeeper’s deal by one year was triggered.
Heaton made his way through the youth ranks at United. However, he subsequently spent several years away from the Old Trafford side at the likes of the Turf Moor side and Aston Villa.
Subsequently, in the summer of 2021, the English national came back to the Red Devils. However, the shot-stopper has hardly made any appearances for the club over the last few seasons, often being the third choice.
Dyche spent several successful years at Burnley with the 37-year-old. Now, the English gaffer has Jordan Pickford at his disposal at Everton. However, the Toffees parted ways with Asmir Begovic last month.
Thus, the Goodison Park side seemingly need a second choice in their ranks. But it remains to be seen whether the Merseyside outfit will be able to sigg Heaton.

The English national is one of the two senior shot-stoppers at United at the moment. For that reason, it would be wise of the Red Devils not to let the 37-year-old depart this summer.
