Victor Lindelof to be offered new Manchester United contract as Erik ten Hag keen
Manchester United are set to offer Victor Lindelof a new contract, with Erik ten Hag keen on keeping hold of him, according to The Sun.
The Sweden international has not been the first-choice in defence for the gaffer this season. As a result, he was linked with an exit from the Old Trafford side.
However, the 28-year-old has recently been given a run in the team, which has impressed the Dutch manager. As a result, the former Ajax head coach does not want to part ways with the centre-back.

Lindelof signed for United in the summer of 2017 from SL Benfica. His current contract at the Old Trafford side is set to expire at the end of the upcoming campaign. However, the Red Devils are looking to trigger the one-year extension option in the defender’s deal.
The Swedish national had been ever-present in our backline in previous seasons. Over the years, he and Maguire were the prominent pairing in defence for the Manchester-based club.
However, with the emergence of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, the 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order. The two World Cup winners have been Ten Hag’s go-to players this season.

But the former Ajax Amsterdam defender picked up a campaign-ending injury in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals against Sevilla.
Since then, Lindelof has been called upon by the gaffer. He played the full 90 minutes in our last nine Premier League fixtures as we secured the third spot in the table.

The Swedish national has proven that he is a reliable squad member to have. However, will the 28-year-old want to remain at the Old Trafford side in his prime years with regular minutes not guaranteed? Only time will tell.
