Barcelona face competition from Manchester United for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat
Manchester United will compete with Barcelona to acquire the services of Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat next summer, according to Sport (h/t Metro).
The Red Devils have made contact with the Morocco international regarding a move in the upcoming transfer window. However, the Blaugrana are also interested in getting a hold of his signature.
To that end, the Old Trafford side are ready to go toe-to-toe with the Spanish giants in the race for the midfielder. The Manchester-based club are ‘serious’ about adding the 26-year-old to their ranks.

However, Barcelona have had an eye on Amrabat for some time now. The La Liga outfit tried to sign the midfield enforcer in January but were unable to convince the Viola to part ways with their star.
Now, the Moroccan is set to enter the final year of his current contract at Fiorentina. Thus, if the midfielder does not extend his stay, then the Serie A outfit do not have a lot of time to cash in on the 26-year-old.
At the moment, the Blaugrana are looking at options to replace Sergio Busquets, who is set to leave. Xavi has the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Gavi and Frank Kessie at his disposal for now.
At United, Casemiro was signed last summer to reinforce the engine room. The Brazilian has been a revelation for the Red Devils in the middle of the park with his tenacity and defensive capabilities.
However, without the 31-year-old in the starting lineup, the Old Trafford side find it hard to get positive results. Erik ten Hag has had to depend on the former Real Madrid star in the number six position this season.
