Napoli resigned to losing Manchester United and PSG target Kim Min-jae
Serie A giants Napoli are resigned to losing Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) target Kim Min-jae next summer, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Partenopei are hopeful of tying the defender down to a new contract. However, if an offer of £52 million arrives for the South Korea international, it will be hard for the Italian outfit to resist.
At the moment, the 26-year-old’s current deal includes a £39 million release clause. However, that is active only for the first two weeks of the upcoming transfer window.
Min-jae signed for Napoli in the summer of 2022 from Fenerbahce. The South Korean was brought in to replace Chelsea’s Kalidou Koulibaly and has done admirably under Luciano Spalletti.
The Naples-based club have secured their first Serie A title in 33 years in the current campaign. In the Partenopei’s success this season, the 26-year-old has been pivotal.
PSG’s backline consists of the likes of Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos. However, with Presnel Kimpembe on the sidelines for a considerable period of time, Christophe Galtier has had to rely on Danilo Pereira in the defence.
As for United, we have a lot of depth in the centre-back area. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have been our first-choice pairing in the current campaign. As a result, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have lost their place in the team.
Our skipper’s future at the club is uncertain. He is set to be transfer listed. On the other hand, the Swedish national is also set to reevaluate his future in the coming months.

Therefore, the Red Devils will evidently need to reinforce the backline next summer if any of our defenders leave. Min-jae has proven his quality in Italy and looks like a great talent for a team like the Old Trafford side to have.
