Barcelona keen on Manchester United target and AS Monaco full-back Vanderson
Spanish giants Barcelona are keen on signing Manchester United target and AS Monaco full-back Vanderson next summer, according to Sport via Sport Witness (h/t Metro).
Deco is set to become the sporting director of the Camp Nou side. The Blaugrana have been tracking the Brazilian and now have made him their top priority for the upcoming transfer window.
However, the La Liga outfit’s financial issues makes it difficult for them to compete with other interested parties for the defender. Thus, the Red Devils have an advantage in the race for the 21-year-old.
While Barcelona are interested in Vanderson, they will only sign him if the price is right. Xavi has counted on Jules Kounde at right-back for most of the season.
At the start of the campaign, the Blaugrana had Hector Bellerin in their ranks as well. But the former Arsenal star joined Sporting CP in the previous transfer window.
As for United, Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bisska are the two players at Erik ten Hag’s disposal for the right-hand side of the defence. However, the gaffer is keen on bolstering the position next summer.
Initially, the Dutch manager counted on the Portugal international in his starting lineup at the Old Trafford side for the first half of the season. However, since the conclusion of the 2022 World Cup, the former Crystal Palace star has found a place in the former Ajax head coach’s plans.
In recent weeks, both Dalot and Wan-Bissaka have shown inconsistency in the team. Also, it would not be a surprise to see the English national depart next summer for regular minutes.

Thus, the Red Devils could evidently do with reinforcements at right-back. However, it remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will be able to pip Barcelona to Vanderson’s signature.
