Manchester United ‘willing’ to return for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen next summer

The Red Devils have the Nigeria international on their radar. Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is the main target, but the Old Trafford side will turn their attention to the 24-year-old in Italy if a deal for the English skipper falls through.
However, the Partenopei have slapped a massive price tag of £131 million on Osimhen. His current contract with the Serie A giants runs until June 2025 and the Naples-based club want to extend it.
During the managerial tenure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United were looking to acquire the Nigerian’s services. However, the 24-year-old turned down the opportunity in respect of his fellow compatriot Odion Ighalo.

Napoli recently got their hands on their first Scudetto in 33 years after their 1-1 draw with Udinese in Serie A. Luciano Spalletti’s team have dominated the Italian league in the current campaign.
Osimhen has been a pivotal player for the Partenopei this season. In 34 appearances in all competitions for the Naples-based club, the 24-year-old Nigerian has found the back of the net 27 times.
United’s current attacking ranks consists of only two natural number nines—Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. The French national has been injury prone in the current campaign, while the Burnley loanee was signed in January as a stop-gap cover.
