Bruno Fernandes voted Manchester United Player of the Month for April
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has been voted the Red Devils’ Player of the Month for April after putting in some impressive displays, via the club’s official Twitter account.
Last month was busy for the Old Trafford side, playing in multiple competitions. The unorthodox season with the World Cup in the middle has seen the fixture schedule become congested.
United had to play six Premier League matches in April. We started with a trip to Newcastle but suffered a 2-0 loss. We got back on track with three back-to-back wins in the league.
Then, Tottenham Hotspur managed to claw their way back after the Old Trafford side had taken a two-goal lead. Fernandes gave an assist as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Aston Villa were our final opponents last month. We dominated most of the proceedings and the Portugal international was front and centre of most of the Manchester-based club’s attacking play. The 28-year-old got on the scoresheet in the 1-0 win.
United also faced Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-finals. Fernandes captained the side in the first leg, which ended 2-2. The Portuguese was suspended for the reverse fixture as the Red Devils lost 3-0 and were knocked out of the competition.
The Old Trafford side also went up against Brighton & Hove Albion in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. The 28-year-old was substituted in the second half of stoppage time. Eventually, we beat the Seagulls in the penalty shootout.
Fernandes has been a pivotal player for United ever since his move from Sporting CP in January 2020. After being a bit underwhelming in the previous campaign, the playmaker has found his feet again under Erik ten Hag.

The Portugal international has been our de facto captain since the Dutch manager’s arrival, with Harry Maguire often on the bench. With the Old Trafford side looking to secure their place in the top four and the FA Cup final against Manchester City, hopefully, the 28-year-old will continue his fine form.
