Brighton & Hove Albion want ‘in excess’ of £70 million for Manchester United target Moises Caicedo
Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion want ‘in excess’ of £70 million for Manchester United target Moises Caicedo, according to Sky Sports.
The Ecuador international signed a new contract at the Amex Stadium side in March until 2027. It does not include a release clause. But the midfielder is attracting a lot of interest ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Premier League rivals Arsenal had a bid rejected for the 21-year-old in January. Apart from the Gunners, Liverpool and Chelsea will also challenge the Red Devils in the race for the youngster.
Brighton are adamant on their price tag on Caicedo, whatever it may be. The Seagulls are open to his departure if the right offer comes in for the Ecuador international.
The Amex Stadium side have been flying-high this season. Roberto De Zerbi has the East Sussex-based club playing some exciting football, with the 21-year-old a pivotal part of the team.
Caicedo established himself in Brighton’s senior squad in the previous campaign and has now become one of their main first-team players. The Ecuadorian has made 37 appearances in all competitions. He showcased his versatility, playing as a right-back in the 1-0 win over United.
Last summer, the Red Devils signed Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to enforce the engine room. The former Real Madrid star has added much-needed quality to the middle of the park as an enforcer.
The Denmark international has also impressed many playing alongside the Brazilian. But on the bench, Fred and Scott McTominay have been inconsistent for the Old Trafford side. Marcel Sabitzer has been a decent signing but is on loan from Bayern Munich.
