Alejandro Garnacho might return to Manchester United squad vs West Ham United
Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho might return to the squad after his injury for the game against West Ham United in the Premier League.
The Argentine has been out for some time now after picking up a knock in March in the 0-0 draw versus Southampton. However, the forward returned to squad training last week.
Speaking to the media via Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag expects to have the same squad at his disposal as the Brighton & Hove Albion game. But the 18-year-old could be involved as well.
“I think it will be the same squad (as against Brighton), maybe Garnacho can be involved but we’ll have to see.”
Man United will take on David Moyes’ team away from home on Sunday (7 May). We lost our previous fixture at Amex Stadium. Therefore, it is important for us to bounce back soon to secure a top-four berth.
Garnacho, who recently signed a new contract, has established himself in the Red Devils’ senior squad in the current campaign. Initially, the Dutch manager seemed sceptical about featuring the youngster in the first team.
However, the winger looks to have won the gaffer over with some clutch displays. The 18-year-old has brought energy and directness to the Old Trafford side’s attack whenever he has been called upon.
The Argentine has had an immense impact on multiple occasions coming off from the bench. His stoppage-time goal in the 2-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage caught a lot of people’s attention.
But Garnacho has had to bide his time at Man United. Ten Hag has relied on Marcus Rashford a lot in the current campaign. The 25-year-old, who has played on the left wing and as a number nine, has shouldered most of the Red Devils’ burden up front.
