Joao Felix keen on permanent Chelsea transfer amidst Manchester United interest
Atletico Madrid loanee Joao Felix is keen on a permanent move to Chelsea in the upcoming transfer window amidst interest from Manchester United, according to AS (h/t Metro).
The Portugal international is comfortable at the Blues, having joined them on loan until the end of the season in January. Now, the Stamford Bridge side have planned talks with the La Liga outfit regarding the forward.
Chelsea have no intention of paying a massive price tag for the youngster. However, the Spanish giants are hopeful that the 23-year-old will shine in the Champions League, increasing his value.
However, the Red Devils also have Felix on their radar. The Red Devils are monitoring how the Portugal international’s situation will unfold in the coming months.
The forward signed for Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2019 from SL Benfica. Over the years, the 23-year-old has been a key player for Diego Simeone’s team but has been unable to fulfil his potential.
In the current campaign, Felix lost his place in Atletico’s starting lineup and had a falling out with the gaffer. Subsequently, the Portuguese has managed to put in some encouraging displays at the West London club.
United’s forward line is a bit short-staffed at the moment, especially in the number nine position. The Red Devils have Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst in their ranks. But the two have been underwhelming under Erik ten Hag.
Marcus Rashford has been the Old Trafford side’s consistent attacking threat this season. Although the likes of Antony and Alejandro Garnacho have also had their moments
