Brighton & Hove Albion would accept £80 million for Manchester United target Moises Caicedo

Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion would be open to selling Manchester United target Moises Caicedo for £80 million, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Seagulls are willing to part ways with the midfielder and let him join the Red Devils in the upcoming transfer window for the massive price tag.

Next summer, a number of top teams are expected to pursue the Ecuador international’s signature. However, the Amex Stadium side will only part ways with the 21-year-old if their valuation is matched.

Caicedo signed for Brighton in the winter window of 2021. However, it was only in the second half of last season that the midfielder broke onto the scene.

In the current campaign, the Ecuador international has continued to put in eye-catching displays. Roberto De Zerbi’s team are competing for a place in the top four as things stand.

The 21-year-old has made 32 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring one goal and providing one assist. He also shone for La Tri in the 2022 World Cup.

United’s engine room lacks quality in depth. Fred and McTominay have spent years together at the Old Trafford side. However, the two have been unable to convince people of their talent season after season.

Casemrio and Christian Eriksen have been impressive additions to the middle of the park. But in their absence, the Red Devils have lacked a cutting edge. Marcel Sabitzer has been encouraging, but he is only at the club on loan until the end of the campaign.

Caicedo has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the English top flight in the last few months. However, whether Erik ten Hag will be provided with the funds to acquire the 21-year-old’s services in the coming future remains to be seen.
