Manchester United join PSG in race for Hajduk Split wonderkid Luka Vuskovic
Manchester United have ‘joined’ Paris Saint-Germain in the race for Croatian wonderkid and Hajduk Split defender Luka Vuskovic, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The 16-year-old has caught the attention of various top sides. Along with the Parisians, Premier League rivals Manchester City were the first club to express an interest in the youngster.
Pep Guardiola’s team have already made their move to acquire the centre-back’s services. They have tabled a €12 million bid, which is expected to be turned down, for him. The Parc des Princes side have also made an offer.
Now, the Red Devils, along with English top-flight sides Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and several other top teams from around Europe, are in pursuit of Vuskovic’s signature.
Hajduk have no intention of parting ways with the centre-back just yet. To that end, the Croatian outfit will look for a deal in the upcoming transfer window that will see the 16-year-old return to the club, likely on loan.
Who is Luka Vuskovic?
Vuskovic has made his way through the youth ranks at the club based in Split. The 16-year-old was handed his debut and played the full 90 minutes for them in February 2023 in a 4-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.
Since then, the youngster has been ever-present in Hajduk’s starting lineup. So far, the defender has made five appearances in all competitions for the Croatian outfit, scoring one goal.
Vuskovic is still young and has a long way to go in his career. However, in a short spell so far, the centre-back has shown immense potential.
