The 24-year-old signed a new contract at the East Sussex-based club last year until 2025. Also, the Seagulls are yet to be contacted by any club for the Argentina international’s signature.

Apart from the Red Devils, English top-flight sides Arsenal and Chelsea are also being associated with the midfielder. Italian giants Juventus and La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid are also eyeing him.

Mac Allister joined the Amex Stadium side in the winter window of 2019 from Boca Juniors. Since then, the midfielder has been a key player for them.

The 24-year-old is a versatile midfielder, capable of playing in a number of positions. In the current campaign, he has made 14 appearances in the league for Brighton, scoring five goals.

Mac Allister shone for his national side at the 2022 World Cup. The 24-year-old became a key player for Lionel Scaloni’s team after their defeat to Saudi Arabia in the first group-stage fixture. La Albiceleste then went on to lift the golden trophy after beating France in the final.

Chelsea boast the former head coach of the Seagulls, Graham Potter. The English manager was the one who signed the World Cup-winning midfielder at Brighton. Thus, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to entice the former Boca Juniors star to West London.

United signed Christian Eriksen as a free agent in the previous transfer window. The Denmark international has surprised many with his performances under Erik ten Hag in the middle of the park.

However, the former Tottenham Hotspur star is set to turn 31 in February. The likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek have not shown enough potential at the club. Thus, it would be wise to get someone like Mac Allister to be Eriksen’s successor at the Old Trafford side.
