Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone open to Joao Felix sale amidst Manchester United links
Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, has stated that he is open to the sale of Joao Felix amidst interest from Manchester United. However, the Argentine head coach also hopes to get the best out of the Portugal international.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Los Rojiblancos. The Red Devils are one of the clubs being associated with the forward’s signature.
Speaking to GOAL (h/t Manchester Evening News), Simeone revealed that no one in his squad was “indispensable”. However, Atletico’s head coach wants to see Felix shine after his displays at the 2022 World Cup.

“No one is indispensable and things will be as they have to be.
“It is very important for us. He has had a good World Cup, he participated in goals with the importance that the coach gave him. Hopefully we can have the best Joao who he saw himself in the World Cup.”
Cristiano Ronaldo recently departed the club midway through the season. As a result, Erik ten Hag is looking to bring in a forward in the upcoming transfer window.
At the moment, Anthony Martial is the only natural striker in the squad. Unfortunately, the France international has struggled with injuries in the current campaign.
The Dutch manager has used Marcus Rashford in the number nine position as well. While the 25-year-old has done well up top, he leaves a lot to be desired in front of goal.
Felix joined Atletico in the summer of 2019 from SL Benfica. However, the youngster has been unable to replicate the form that he showed in the Primeira Liga in Spain. In the current campaign, the forward has started just five games in La Liga for Los Rojiblancos.
However, the 23-year-old showcased his talent in Qatar. The Portuguese was one of Fernando Santos’ key players at the 2022 World Cup. But they crashed out of the quarter-finals after being beaten by Morocco.
