Belgium and Brighton & Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard offered to Manchester United
Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Belgium and Brighton & Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard, according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs via Give Me Sport (h/t Express).
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea have also been presented with a chance to get a hold of the 27-year-old’s signature. The forward is valued at around £25 million.
Trossard’s agent has put forth the opportunity in front of the three English top-flight giants. The Belgian has been in imperial form for the Seagulls this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 14 league appearances.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s team have seemingly ruled out a move for the 27-year-old. The Merseyside club are not expected to invest a lot in January with an uncertain future under the current owners.
But Liverpool’s forward line is currently stacked with the likes of Mohammed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino. Thus, they evidently have enough firepower up front.
On the other hand, Graham Potter’s team have not been the most clinical in front of goal. And the former Brighton manager knows all about Trossard.
The 27-year-old made it to Roberto Martinez’s 26-man squad for the World Cup. Against Canada and Morocco in Group F, the Seagulls forward played a cameo coming on as a second-half substitute.
United’s squad does not have a lot of options to play up top. Anthony Martial is the only natural number nine. However, the French national’s injuries have meant Marcus Rashford has had to lead the line.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure has also dwindled Ten Hag’s options in attack. While Trossard is a versatile player capable of playing down the middle, it would be wise for the Red Devils to rather see an out-and-out striker come through the door in the upcoming transfer windows.
