Manchester United “hardly have a chance” to sign England and Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham

Manchester United “hardly have a chance” to sign England international Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.

Instead, the race for the 19-year-old’s signature is going to be between the Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City and European champions Real Madrid.

The price tag on the midfielder’s head has been suggested to be around €150 million. But it seems the Red Devils are not one of the teams being considered by the youngster.

Bellingham signed for BVB in the summer of 2020. He left English side Birmingham City to make his way to Germany. And with the Bundesliga giants, the 19-year-old has thrived.

The midfielder had already established himself in Dortmund’s first team in his debut campaign. And currently, the youngster is in his third season at BVB and has turned many heads with his displays.

In the 2022/23 campaign, Bellingham has performed admirably. The Bundesliga giants’ manager Edin Terzic has also handed the midfielder the captain’s armband on a few occasions.

The 19-year-old’s performances in the Champions League this season, especially against City, garnered a lot of attention. And now, the youngster is also showcasing his talent at the biggest stage in football – the World Cup.

Gareth Southgate’s team took on Iran in their first Group B fixture in Qatar. And Bellingham broke the deadlock with his goal as the Three Lions won 6-2. The 19-year-old also started for England against the United States of America on Friday (25 November).

While Casemiro and Christina Eriksen’s arrival in the recent transfer window has added strength to United’s engine room, the Dortmund youngster is a generational player. Hopefully, the Red Devils can pull a rabbit out of the hat and get a deal over the line for the youngster.
