Manchester United trio Casemiro, Fred and Antony named in 26-man Brazil squad for the FIFA World Cup
Manchester United stars Casemiro, Fred and Antony have been named by Tite in the Brazil squad for the Qatar World Cup, via Manchester Evening News.
The trio are also joined by Alex Telles, who is currently on loan at Sevilla from the Red Devils. The Brazilian contingent from the Old Trafford side are set to face Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon in Group G.
Casemiro made his way to the Old Trafford side in the recent transfer window from Real Madrid. And the 30-year-old has slowly made himself a pivotal part of the team.
On the other hand, Fred has struggled to get regular game time under Erik ten Hag since the 4-0 defeat to Brentford in the Premier League. However, the 29-year-old is an important player for the Selecao. He has formed a decent partnership with Casemiro for Brazil.
Antony celebrates World Cup call-up
Antony has also made it into the squad for his first World Cup with the South American nation. The 22-year-old signed for United in the summer of 2022 from Ajax. And the youngster is delighted to be part of the travelling party to Qatar,
The Brazilian reunited with Ten Hag in Manchester. And he has gotten off to a quick start in a red shirt. The forward scored consecutively in his first three games for the Old Trafford side in the Premier League.
Antony has been ever-present in the starting lineup ever since the Dutch manager got the 22-year-old from the Eredivisie champions. At Ajax, the 22-year-old turned many heads with his performances.
Tite handed the winger his debut for the Selecao in October last year. The youngster came on as a substitute late in the second half against Venezuela in a 3-1 victory in a World Cup qualification match.

It remains to be seen what role he plays for Brazil at the World Cup. As for Casemiro and Fred, Qatar marks the second time the two have made their country’s squad for the prestigious tournament.
