Chris Sutton has predicted a 2-1 win for Manchester United against West Ham United

Sport pundit Chris Sutton has predicted a 2-1 win for Manchester United against West Ham United later today.

Writing in his latest BBC Sport column (h/t Manchester Evening News), the pundit gave his verdict in favour of United.

“Losing defender Raphael Varane is a blow for Manchester United, but I think they will cope without him, even though Gianluca Scamacca is a real threat. West Ham are a stubborn side, who are in decent form. But I don’t think their backline will be good enough.”

United have four of their last six games in all competitions including a 3-0 win over FC Sheriff earlier this weekend. The Hammers have a similar record, only that they have lost one game in the process against Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag will be without centre-back Raphael Varane. The Frenchman picked up his injury during our 1-1 draw against Chelsea last weekend. He is unlikely to feature for the club before the World Cup.

Victor Lindelof will likely start the game with Lisandro Martinez at the back. Tyrell Malacia may be bought back into the fold despite Luke Shaw’s fine form in recent run of games.

Casemiro is likely to partner with Christian Eriksen in the middle of the park. Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored against Sheriff earlier this week, could be handed a start with Marcus Rashford and Antony on the wings.

The Reds are without doubt the stronger side on paper. But the game is played on the field and anything can happen. Fans will hope for a win and Ten Hag will look to continue his unbeaten run of games.
