Manchester United amongst several clubs in talks for Barcelona midfielder Gavi
Manchester United are amongst the several Premier League sides to have held meetings about Barcelona midfielder Gavi, according to 90min (h/t Express). The Red Devils are one of the clubs interested in the 18-year-old.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are the outfits in England keeping an eye on the Spaniard’s situation at Camp Nou. Top sides from around Europe, such as Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, are also potential suitors.
Gavi is yet to tie down his future with Barcelona. The 18-year-old and those around him are unhappy about the situation at the moment. However, the Blaugrana are optimistic about keeping hold of their prodigy.
The Spain international had a breakout season in the 2021/22 campaign for Barcelona and the national side. Gavi made 48 appearances for the Spanish giants in all competitions, mainly playing in the middle of the park.
Having come up through the famous La Masia, the 18-year-old is good on the ball and has decent qualities. But for fans, Gavi’s standout trait has been his aggressiveness and tenacity.
Following a blistering start to his career with the Catalans, Luis Enrique wasted no time in handing the 18-year-old his first cap for Spain. The midfielder currently has 10 caps for La Furia Roja.
United have addressed some of the issues in the middle of the park with the signings of Caemiro and Christian Eriksen this summer. Under Erik ten Hag, the team have slowly found their rhythm.
Other options in the middle of the park include Fred and Scott McTomiany. However, the duo have failed to convince the fans of their qualities due to their inconsistency.

What United seemingly lack in the midfield is aggression. And Gavi brings plenty of it. However, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will be willing to part ways with one of their brightest prospects.
