Transfer News: Manchester United want to sign two more players this summer
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United want to sign two more players before the transfer window deadline on September 1.
The Red Devils have already seen several arrivals this summer, including Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and most recently, Casemiro. But it seems they are not done.
Manager Erik ten Hag is supposedly keen on signing another two players at the club, especially an attacker. Antony of Ajax is close to signing for the Red Devils after he has made his intention clear of wanting to leave the Amsterdam-based outfit.
The Red Devils are supposedly keen on strengthening the central midfielder and right-back area, but it isn’t their priority. After signing Eriksen and Casemiro, Ten Hag is perhaps a little relaxed about that area.
More incomings?
Diogo Dalot has also done well and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could still play a role in the team. These are two talented full-backs who, if coached well, can be an important part of this United side.
The club is also eager to sign a backup to David de Gea, especially after Dean Henderson’s departure to Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal. Martin Dubravka of Newcastle United is one name linked to them.
Fans would want the club to perhaps look for a striker. Cristiano Ronaldo’s future in Ten Hag’s starting XI remains a mystery, especially after he was benched against Liverpool last weekend.
If not that, then Antony would suffice as well. Rashford and Martial are both capable of playing as centre-forwards. A backup goalie, however, seems a must.

One injury to De Gea or a suspension to him could leave us with no one but 36-year-old Tom Heaton to play instead of him. That is a situation we would not prefer, especially with every single point mattering in the top four race this season.
