Hoffenheim director remains coy on the future of David Raum amid Manchester United interest
While speaking in an interview as quoted by Manchester Evening News, In light of Manchester United interest, the future of David Raum has now been discussed by Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen.
Raum has seen a remarkable climb to prominence over the past several years and is currently recognised as one of the Bundesliga’s left-backs. He first caught people’s attention during the 2020–21 season, when his 15 assists in the second tier helped Greuther Furth achieve promotion to the Bundesliga.
Last summer, Raum attracted the attention of Hoffenheim, and he did not disappoint there either. He recorded 13 assists, and he even started playing regularly for the German national team. His swift ascent puts Manchester United on high alert.
Without giving too much away, it seems Hoffenheim would consider offers if Raum thought about leaving the team. Considering the German club’s recent dismal performance, it’s frequently too difficult to refuse when a club like Manchester United comes calling and the sporting director hasn’t ruled out such a possibility.
“I would prefer to keep him. At the end of the day, it depends on what the market looks like and what chance the player has. If a top club comes and he gets the opportunity, then, of course, we will sit down with him. In the end, it’s always about an exchange based on trust.”
The sports director of Hoffenheim declines to say which club has made contact, although it would come as no surprise to learn that it is Manchester United. The Red Devils need to reinforce a squad that has several gaping holes ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
It appears that new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is trying to add a new left-back option as Luke Shaw and Alex Tellas aren’t performing up to par. With Cristiano Ronaldo lurking inside the box, David Raum, a German international, is the ideal choice since he provides offensive production and has excellent crossing ability.

Raum is a technically sound full-back who can rotate possession in addition to his crossing. He is a great athlete who recovers ground quickly, which makes him the perfect addition for Manchester United.
With two months left before the new season begins, Raum’s transfer dilemma is far from finished, and there is plenty more to come over the next few weeks.
