Transfer News: Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong agrees to join Manchester United
According to Mail Online, Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has finally agreed to join Manchester United in the upcoming summer transfer window. This update would undoubtedly be a great piece of news for the English club as he has been the main target for Erik ten Hag to build his project at Old Trafford.
Man United have ramped up the efforts to finalise a transfer for de Jong as a result, with talks currently being held with Barca over a potential move. The Spanish club have set up an asking price of £65million for the midfielder’s services, with the English side having already made an opening bid.
That being said, both clubs have not reached an agreement over the fee just yet, but the Red Devils are becoming increasingly confident that a move can be facilitated this summer. Ten Hag is stated to have played a major part in convincing de Jong to accept the switch to Manchester ahead of the next season.

What’s more, the holding midfielder’s arrival would be perfect for us, especially after Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba’s exits that will take place at the end of this month.
Now, the hierarchy must do their best to find common ground with the Catalans at the earliest. After all, it is always best to complete transfers as soon as possible so that the incomings can be quickly integrated into the team.
